Community
Our concept policy in the mining industry to include local indigenous community as equity partner will play an important role in contributing to the community, social and economic prosperity of the communities in which we operate and are committed to making a positive impact from our operations. Therefore, it is evidenced with 110% community support for any of our explorations programs.
The Malaumanda Community through their local firm, the Malaumanda Development Corporation Ltd (MDC) represents twelve (12) clans within EL2421. The clans which have representation as directors’ and shareholders on the board of MDC and the Malaumanda Landowners’ Association (MLA) respectively has each of the clan chiefs as committee members. The landowners are enthusiastic about potential development in their area and have been very supportive of past exploration programs. We have similar structure and policy for the Salumei Korosameri.
This policy recognises delivering on this commitment is fundamental to our long-term success and to creating value in our communities. Our community engagement activities are underpinned by a Community and Partner Relations policy.
This policy outlines our commitment to building mutually beneficial relationships based on trust and respect through active engagement and two-way communication. This dialogue enables us to engage with the community about how they can participate in project activities, also through employment and training.
Their assistance and cooperation have been acknowledged by previous exploration companies.
